Can Do Multiple Sclerosis Announced as Benefactor

Avon, Colo. (September 9, 2022) – It’s time to throw some axes! The 12th annual Man of the Cliff is returning to Avon, Colorado, on October 15 & 16, 2022. The event is known for its competitive lumberjack sports, but it’s also known for giving back to charity. For the second year, proceeds from the event benefit Vail Valley-based Can Do Multiple Sclerosis, a nonprofit organization that helps people and families living with MS thrive.

“We love this event and are so grateful for the support of everyone who attends, the sponsors, and the founders, Amanda and Adam Williams, who believe in our mission to change lives,” says Director of Marketing Lisa Mattis, CEO.

Can Do MS delivers virtual and in-person health and wellness education programs on exercise, nutrition, symptom management, and motivation to help families live their best lives today and in the future.

All competitions have been modified to allow men and women – ages 18 and over – of all sizes and abilities to compete. Participants can sign up for single events (axe throwing, two-man crosscut, and tug-of-war) or register for the boast-worthy grand prize, the 2022 Man or Woman of the Cliff ($88 online, $100 day of).

Spectator day passes are just a $10 suggested donation to Can Do MS. 100% of proceeds will go directly to work, ensuring that people and families with MS have access to life-changing programs.

About Man of the Cliff

Thirteen years ago, Amanda and Adam Williams organized their very own lumberjack games event in the small town of Red Cliff, Colorado, with the idea of raising money for a nonprofit organization while testing who had the best axe throwing, keg tossing, and archery skill. Having outgrown its footprint in this small mountain town, the event was moved to Avon’s Nottingham Park and has grown to become one of the Vail Valley’s favorite annual festivals.
