First Descents hosts outdoor adventure programs for young adult cancer survivors. In one unforgettable week, participants will push themselves to their physical and emotional limits. By providing a safe and supportive environment, the First Descents Experience becomes a catalyst for increased self esteem, independence and peer support. First Descents bridges the gap between treatment and recovery for young adult cancer survivors. At the end ofthe week, participants return home with a renewed sense of confidence, community and belief that cancer doesn’t limit what one can achieve. First Descents was founded in 2001 by professional kayaker Brad Ludden. In 2009 First Descents will host 9 programs serving over 130 young adults First Descents is a tax exempt organization under the 501(c)(3) code of the IRS.
